Democracy itself is at stake across the globe. Industry and Finance have captured our Governments whilst the Mainstream Media, with their own corporate agendas, keep us blinded to the painful truths and numb us with trivia, aspirational propaganda and attacks on anyone daring to question the status quo.
We currently already have all the technology we need to allow every citizen to vote on chosen big issues of the day. This can easily be set up to encompass all those without access to the web.
Accounts could even be set up so that anyone can go to any cashpoint, put in their card, add a couple of details, eg- NI Number, and vote instantly and securely. Libraries could implement dedicated computers purely for increasing scope and access.
It is understandable that there may be concern that this system could be corrupted by the very gatekeepers that it intends to regulate. Whilst this is a very real threat, the ability to comprehensively prevent this, and to provide 100% Transparency, has been within reach for a long time.
Anyone familiar with the concepts of Cryptocurrencies, and Bitcoin specifically, will know of the BlockChain. The BlockChain is a comprehensive, self-regulating register of data, that encodes and records data publicly, in a way that is "near-impossible" to corrupt. It uses a methodology known as Hashing to do this.
